Well I finally got some sound after I finally installed my new system. Watch for the review soon. I had some problems in my car before which were posted in this section. I now have 2 more problems.

1. My ipod adapter (Ib100ii) isn't working. HU is 880PRS. There is no error msg on the ipod. I can choose the songs and everything on the HU but no sound is coming. Not even from the analyzer.

2. Another is that when im driving the car, the HU says i have 16.7 volts. When the car is off it reads 16 volts to 15 volts. I don't think I have a HO alternator. My battery was fully charged and I have the big3 with 4and 0 ga wirings. I'm mostly afraid that the volts is too high and will destroy my electrical.

Sounds like the voltage readout is bad. Your car would not like 16v.

Yeah most likely the voltage regulator or a faulty meter...you need to get it fixed quick if its the regulator it could end up frying your computer and other things....

How long can I drive it like this? I have to get somewhere tonight and back home. Its going to be about an hour drive back and forth.

^that makes sense actually...

Im hearing many other things from other ppl and some installers in my area.

One says its normal because I have a deep cycle batter that has been fully charged.

Another says its my voltage regulator.

One says its good for a few weeks.

On says its good for my system even.

Would I still be able to drive the car the distance I have to though? I did drive it around for a bit with that reading before (probably about 30mins)

Just stop by a auto store and have them check your charging system.

UPDATE: I had it checked this morning. My battery was at 12-14 volts so it seems fine. The mechanic said that it was an extra capacitor in my amps which provide the system with extra volts. The car should run fine like that.
