Why do B&M car audio joints get so touchy if you don't buy from them?!?!

I have been talking with a few B&M car audio places over the past two weeks to get my system installed. I called my local dealer and told him what I was thinking about purchasing. He said before you buy online print out the prices and let me see what I can do for you. So, ok, why not. I print a few pages of equipment I was considering and go in to see him. I tell him my budget is about $1500 for equipment. We talk for a bit about what I should do. He recommends a few products with a price tag of $3300 installed (way over my budget). I go home to think about what I want to do. The next day I send him an e-mail saying that I decided to buy all my equipment online, but I would love to give him the install business. Now you would think he would be happy to get a job like this. Instead, he sends me an email saying it is going to cost me $1075 to install a double din deck, components up front, coaxial in back, a 5 channel amp, a 2 way car alarm with remote start, and a single 10" sub that has already been mounted and wired to 2ohms. Keep in mind I have already purchased all the harnesses and such needed for the install. I went to my local Best Buy and they wanted $380 to install all the audio equipment. They would not install the alarm because it is not viper. So this is what I'm thinking. The car audio guy at my local shop is pissed off because I didn't buy my whole set up from him so he gave me the "go f*** yourself price". Do I want to get my equipment installed at Best Buy, no, not at all, but the local guy is basically forcing me into it. I talked to the guy at best buy and he knows his ****. We went over how he would install everything and I trust he will do a good job.

To all the B&M car audio shop owners on this forum: WTF are you guys doing? If you don't change your ways of doing business you will ALL be out of business soon. My area is down to 2 car audio shops now. There used to be 5 or 6. I would have paid more to support my local shop but god **** not if you try to **** me. Atleast lube me up first! It is time to understand that people are going to shop your prices online. If that means selling equipment close to cost, then do it to get the install.

I didnt read a one damn bit of that, but its just because you didnt buy from them. They probably hiked the install quote up too just because you're bringing them stuff.

Not saying the best buy installer doesn't know what he's doing, as BB does have installers every few so often that do. However, how the fuck would you know that he knows his shit if you don't know what you're doing. I can talk to an installer and get an idea of whether or not they not what they're doing. 90% of this forum could do the same. But is you can't install your own stuff, you likely can't determine if someone else knows what they're doing.
