WHY did I blow this amp?

I bought a Massive Audio P1500.1 amp from an internet dealer a few weeks back. Get the amp, and love it, nice amp, looks great. And the power out of this amp is VERY impressive. So anyways, I make an accident and hook something up wrong and fry it, oh well, contacted Massive Audio and the fixed it, put new PCB in it. I get it back. Hook everything up correctly this time. ( I have 4ag. wire coming from an optima yellow top battery going through a 140A fuse ) the amp starts flickering and making this aweful ticking sound and the protection light is on, what the heck did I do? I cannot figure it out!

you're going to have to use less pronouns.

what and how did you hook up incorrectly to begin with? whats the coil config on the sub you're running? where's your gains set?

It definitely sounds speaker related. Time to check for shorts.

You probably hooked it up wrong again and fried it

its hard to fry an amp without doing something retarded.

for future reference, disconnect the negative terminal from your battery first, then connect power and ground, connect RCAs and speaker level outs (make sure these aren't shorted), then connect the remote turn on.

at this point, check your connections.

after that hook the negative turnimal up and pray that nothing smokes.

usually amps fry while hooking them up with the battery connected.

what does the amp do when you unhook the speakers from it? does it stay in protection?

the sub had been hooked up with no problems for a month or so, never was changed when i blew the amp the first time. When I blew it the first time I was impatient and hooked it up with the batter still attached. Second time i unhooked it and hooked everything up, then powered it up. 24 hours later, it goes haywire. the amp is gone, and I never checked that, because I had no reason to believe the sub was faulty. It's and RESX12 and I didnt even have the gains up.
