most shops have a big markup and a lot of over head so most likely a shop is never hte cheapest place

no. online is 99% of the time cheaper, even after shipping. whether u realize it or not, when buying from a store, shipping, employess, etc, are all built in to the markup, which is why most of them time online is cheaper

Online is usually cheaper. The shops probably already factored in the shipping on the prices, + way more.

I would love to buy locally, even if the prices were 20% above online due to waranties, but local shops are usually 50-60% higher so I dont.

For example, I went to a shop in this area named Lee's Stereo looking to buy some Q-Forms (prefab kickpanels) which have a list price of $199.

They are sold all day long on the net for $129 to $149, and I would have been okay even buying from them at $169 to $180, so I had already decided I would buy locally from Lee's.

I went in, told the idiot kid what I was looking for (he had to ask, never heard of them), and he quoted me a price of $210!

I refuse to pay above list price, and Lee's has forever lost a customer.
