Why are the pioneer DEH units so gay?

Discuss, i know alot of you have them and so do i. Personally, i think they **** if you have a sub and a amp controlling your highs. Just want to hear your thoughts on them, thanks.

well, i fixed that problem. But it seems to me that the tuning system is pretty fvcked with the pioneers. Why the hell would they make it to where you have to boost your lows all the way up just to get sub output? I don't get it, all it does is add distortion to the mids and highs.

no, seriously, you have to boost the lows on the head unit all the way to +6 to get sub output. If it is at 0 then subs can barely be heard.

bc its a 4000, they dont have alot of option on tuning your system, once you step to the 6000 then you have more controls, other than that i think u have ID10T problem.

Shouldn't have to. I have a 5900 and never have the sub output past zero, nor do I have the bass turned up past zero and I have more than enough output.
