Why are my speakers making this noise?

permanent fix.....

cut rca;s in half (a new harness for your deck is 20 bucks on ebay if you need to replace it)

carefully splice each ground from the RCAS into a good ground wire running to one of the headunit screws. reconnect each tip of each rca lead and heatshrink over.

solder all connections and heat shrink over.

problem solved.

might look something like this

( just using google images to give you an idea..)

ehhhh just do this. find some left over speaker wire. take about a foot of it, splice each and and remove about 2=3" of speaker jacket on both ends. now, take one end and wrap one side of the speaker line around one of the rca's. take the rca that plugs into it and plug it in it to pinch the speaker wire in place. do the same with the other line of the speaker wire. then take the other side of the speaker wire and locate a screw on the back of your head unit. loosen the screw and then wrap around the speaker wire to that screw then tighten it down. if i explained this right you should have at least 6" of length of a ground. one side will be connecting to your rca's while the other side is connecting to the head unit.

There is no safety issue involved, only audio buzz versus clean signal. Tape over those wire wraps to keep them in place and to prevent any intermittent grounds anywhere you didn't intend.

The more I read about these pioneer RCA ground problems the more I think they belong in the same league with the sony xplod line of gear.

I ran a deh80mp for 2 years on an alpine 4ch and never had any signal noise and there's a lot crappy roads here in mn so I'm not sure if all pioneers have this problem.

not all but the majority. it's like a hit or miss kind of thing. pioneers are great units, they just have that little issue with the rcas ground. only thing that bugs me and a lot of people is as to why pioneer has not resolved the issue yet.

It seems to me to be more than a little issue. I call it unacceptable. Maybe they should change the name from "Pioneer" to "Buzz-in-your-ear"
