Why are my HAt tweeters so harsh?

Not really. As long as the CO is set within limits may twetters can take twice that
OK, show me your tweeters with 120watts clamped on each one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

OP try turning down the power to your tweets and I'm betting the harshness will disappear.

I've only messed with the Legatias and the tweeter was not harsh at all...

I only have 75 going to mine. Look at my amp, its set with a scope at max output. I dont think I need to clamp it. Look at the Rainbow power tweeters. They are rated at 175 rms. The ones I have now can take 90+ but i dont have it to give them.

sorry, they are 180 rms. The reason for the harshness, those are designed to run active to give the user control. WoofersEtc.com - CAL 27 Silk VOF - Power CS 1.06" Tweeter Set

i think youve misread how i have my speakers connected. my tweeter is on coaxial mode so the tweeter is connected to the midrange. i just have speaker wires from my amp to my speakers, theres no settings for me to tweak the tweeter. i dont have any crossovers or anything just connected the speakers to the rear deck and thats it.

i know i need to go active now to fine tune the sound because i cant stand the sound at volume 30.

and my mid is underpowered at 60 watts because its rated at 100 rms with 100-150 rms power range

Call Hybrid I am sure they can tell u I would assume 75rms but thats just a solid guess.
will do. thanks guys. cant wait to get the full potential out of this system. i think im going to be buying the JBL GTO amp btw, what do you guys think?
