i finally finished shopping for my speakers (front and rear) and subwoofer (15") *i won't say what i purchased just so i won't start a flamewar or an invitation to jack this thread :p *

anyways, i'm shopping around for amps now...and originally i was going to purchase the following:

US Acoustic USX1000D (700w x 1 @2ohm, 1250w x 1 @1ohm)...$419.99

US Acoustic USX4085 (85w x 4 @4ohm)...$174.99

both at the zeb.com

but...

would this set up be better?

JBL BP1200.1 (600w x 1 @4ohm, 1200w x 1@2ohm)...$285

JBL180.2 (90w x 2 @4ohm, 180w x 2 @2ohm)...$149 x 2

at ikesound.com...i know i have to buy 2 jbl 180.2's to accomodate all 4 speakers.

please give me your opinions!

thanx

p.s.

i was also looking for cadence amps...but i can't find anyplace cheap.

type-r's (6 1/2 comps, and 6 1/2 rears)...i'm looking for amps that do at least 70w x 4 @4ohm

Originally posted by Wonderbread you are going to have to tell us waht speakers, otehrwise, tehre is no way to tell you if thhose amps will do it for you...

are tehy type r's?

we cant help you unless you help us..

just run your fronts off an amp, 70x2 or even 50x2 will be great...

or, if you relaly want, get a JBL 80.4 and wire it downt to 2 ohms..

70-80-100 watts up front is waaaaay too much for most people..

truyst me, its loud...

yea, they are type-r's.

i listen to dance music (house, techno, jungle...etc.) and i prefer to listen to it loud. i had 45w x 4 once, and it was ok but it wasn't what i really expected.

please help me decide if i should go with the jbl set ups or the us acoustic ones.

thanx again!

i have an Alpine SPR-176A (6-1/2" Type-R Component 2-Way Speaker) for the fronts and an Alpine SPR-174A (6-1/2" Type-R 2-Way Speaker) for the rears.

and i have a single Alpine SWR-1521D (15" Type-R Series Subwoofer (2ohm + 2ohm) dual voice coil...

4 ohm or 2 ohm? dual or single ones coil, 2 of them?

go with the US Acoustics one for your componentts and coaxials, and with the

JBL for your sub, wire it to 4 ohms, BUT, that would still be too much power for daily driving, definietly only going with one?

you could try it, but the JBL 600.1 would work better for you..

less than 200 too./..

^thanx wonderbread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

it kinda bothers me that i'll be using different amps from different companies...but i'm not doing it for show anyways, so it's all good.

thanx again
