Review will definitely be happening, but not for a little while. I still have to finalize my sub choice and get a sub amp.I'll be on the lookout for a review, if you're planning one. I've got my eye on this unit, but I'm still unsure.
x2; except I like the 880 better. An eq capable of adjusting left and rught channels separately is what you should look for, but that's not for amateurs.
If I didn't have the h701, I'd prob go with the alpine 9835 with an audio control dqs. 3way xover, 6 channel t-corr, and 6 channel 30 band eq. Almost everything u need except phase which can be done via speaker wire.
Interesting how your shop/installer would say you don't need it. Yes u don't need it, but it sure can help a lot if you know what to do with it. I would've expected some sales pitch about EQs.
Glad you like it. The big difference you're hearing isn't the eq portion of that unit. Sure if you didn't tune it with the EQ it would sound like crap, but the EQ portion isn't what is making it sound so (as you put it) "crisp". It's the AudioControl built in "line driver" that is making the BIGGEST difference. They make a very good line driver circuit and they incorporate it into just about ALL of their units. Your amps are getting a cleaner and higher voltage signal. I'm surprised you haven't had to turn down your gains on your amps. That's what I get for listening to the shop installer. I drove the truck around for a half an hour today and it took a while to notice the difference. Again, the music was clear before but it wasn't clean and didn't have the separation. When I turned up the music a little louder, the separation and crispness was there. I didn't know what the hell I was thinking about taking the eq out of my car the first time. I used an eq for years and years. I made sure that when I put one back in that I went top of the line.
Well, that depends on how much you want to spend and that will depend on how much control you need to justify the xtra cash. The DQS is more than twice as much than the EQS. If money is NO object then I would say go with the DQS since it's giving you 30 bands of equalization for each channel.what's your thoughts on the audio control dqs and the eqs? would you pick one over the other? i'm looking for a nice eq to use with an aftermarket head unit.
I haven't heard anything about that, but I think the 3sixty is a bit pricey if you already spent money on a good aftermarket HU.for all the 3sixty.2 users out there, have you had any problems with it? after searching the net for info/reviews on the 3sixty.2, i've read some stuff about it stops working, and it needs reset all the time. what's your thoughts on this? would this still be a good choice of eq when using an aftermarket head unit?
