Who is right....

Okay, well my friend has a Mmats P2.0 or something like that, doesnt matter, but its DVC 4 ohms. He has an A8000T amp, which puts out 800w at 2 ohms. The idiot that hooked it up, hooked it up to only one VC. So he asked me to rewire it for him. To do it simple, I just added a wire to the other VC and put it in the same channel as the set of wires from the other VC. So this would give me a final load of 2 ohms, correct...?

Well then his big shot brother comes out bitching about it, and says I dont know shit. So he goes online and finds the RF wiring guide, and shows how to do wire it to 2 ohms, but wiring it to a mono load. So he hooks it up, and says his way was better and I was wrong....

Same thing, correct?

Both are fine. The easiet way would be to just run wire from the first VC to the 2nd VC though.

I was 100% sure, but he said I was an idiot and that would not get a 2 ohm load... So I decided what the hell, I'll make a thread about it.

And the sub is only 200w RMS, and he is now giving is 800w RMS, and it sounds like the sub is farting. He has a DMM, and I was going to set the gain to send somewhere around 300w or so, but his brother said the sub is fine...

I hate when people say i dont know shit bcuz i run USAmps, their like... WTF is USAmps and they laugh... and they say AudioBahn is the best bcuz its won 4 years in a row in hot import nights... i tell its bcuz of the bling and audiobahn sucks and they make fun of the USAmps name and the Palm Tree on it, they wish they can afford USAmps.

Yeah man, this other kid was there while I was hooking up the sub, and he's telling me about his new Audiobahns... I am not clear on how you wired it compared to his wiring. I assume it is a two channel amp, so if you wired both coils to one channel, the amp would see a two ohm load. If he wired both coils to a single bridged channel (meaning say, left positive and right negative) the amp would see a one ohm mono load.

It is a mono amp... And it could not be a 1 ohm load, if it is DVC 4 ohms...
