who is man enough?

what is the point of a handgun so powerful? Like what are they actually for? You can't buy hand guns here at all without a very complicated and difficult to obtain licence. Although they do look like a good bit of fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I can imagine shooting a .44 would be nothing other than painful to do more than once

I haven't shot a snub nose .44, I've just heard tons of stories.

NZ laws are in some ways better then here and some other aspects just ****. Like you guys can own full auto's, you just can't shoot them.

and the point is because it looks fun. I need a big caliber handgun biggest I have now is 45 acp.

yeah haha but they can't really police who's shooting them, I'm sure people who own full auto's give them some use. Biggest gun I own is a .223, got no use for anything bigger, there isn't anything that big to shoot where I live. I'm sure that not allowing people to own pistols cuts down on crime though, but I'd like to have a go with one for sure.

actually it is usually the opposite way. I think it was Canada who did a ban on firearms and crime **** way up, then they ended prohibition and crime went back down.

All I do is target shooting.

Gotta really read into those statistics though; it may be that crime increased because people were getting charged for breaking the new firearms law, not because the lack of guns was causing crime. Then again, it may inspire confidence in criminals if they know that the person they're pulling a knife on doesn't have a 9mm in their jacket. Hard to say without the raw stats in front of you.

no petty theft was the biggest increase, making firearms illegal doesn't take it out of the hands of criminals. It only affect the people who follow the law. In America it's much easier to get guns illegally then legally.

edit: 90% of the time I'm not at work I have either a 9mm or a .380 acp on me.

either of the bottom 2.

I've been saving up for one of those with the 6'' barrel. The trigger on them is damn smooth.

To answer the kiwi's question; they are useful for when you are hiking in brown bear territory. I have a .357 that I carry when hiking when it's just black bears and mountain lions. But the .44 is good for being more effective in killing smaller beasts as well. My dad's detective friend used to carry a Model 29 around when the Dirty Harry movies came out, when the .38 special bullets bounced off an assailants windshield, his .44 mag punched through. Plus, they are just damn fun to own and shoot.
