i had double hernia surgery when i was little. I do not remember therefore i cannot comment.

guy at wrok had a hernia, they did surgery. he came back to work, ruptured(sp?) it again, and is disabled for life. apparenlty there's too mcuh scar tissue to do surgery again.

another co-worker had the same belly button hernia, he just came back to wrok after being out for 2 months.

i had a hernia when i was in like first grade. similar to spider monkey's where i had the 1" scar. I don't remember it hurting ever or having to do rehab or anything like that. I think i just got right back at it. I guess i was just a beast. or it was just less severe...

I had my belly button done and just above it several years ago... I have a scar thats like 1/2inch to an inch long right above my belly button.

I couldn't laugh for a week ...

thats about where im at... im on day 6, still hurts a little to laugh... i think by tomorrow i will be able to, unless im cryin of laughter....

UPDATE i just got back from the doc.. he said everything seems normal, BUT... he said there is a HUGE piece of mesh in between the 4 cuts around my belly button!!!! i didnt know it was that big!! good lord!!

but he said that they actually don't stitch up the whole in the intesting wall because the second you stretch it, it will rip open again, so they just put a huge patch on it... he said now it will in a way be stronger than ever.
