Who Here has had HERNIA SURGERY??

SM, the doc told me that it is normal during the surgery for them to cut the nerve that runs along the testicular cord cause it can end up getting tangled in the mesh and causing MAJOR problems. so they cut it and cauterized it. i have no feeling on the left side of my pelvic base. i could pinch it as hard as i want and wont feel a thing. at first i thought i was gonna lose feeling in my dick. then id be ****ed

hmm. yea mine popped out where the testicular cord runs down through the intestinal wall. the wall got ripped, and my intestine fell down into my scrotum, so sometimes it would be in my scrotum and sometimes it wouldnt be in my scrotum. haha.

nasty to just think about, but yea, the pain never fully goes away, but its a really common procedure and everything 99% of the time turns out right, you shouldnt have anything to worry about snb.

and heres the catch. when they did the surgery they cut the wall a bit, and some fat fell down into my nut sac, so now i have a lobulated cystic mass sitting down in my nutsac, and the insurance adjuster is begging for me to close the case. not doing it.

theres a sac filled with water just sitting in my nutsac. doc said it might go away on its own, but if it gets bigger, then we can talk about taking it out. he said if we try to take it out since its not that big of a deal, it could make me infertile. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I have a Hiatal Hernia, and the doctors want to avoid surgery as much as possible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif... it causes some nasty acid reflux sometimes.

some of this scares me. It does feel like I lost some feeling around my belly button.. I don't like the fact that I may feel it from time to time, (although as I said.. when it happened i never really even felt it, even when I was lifting things.) I am just worried that when I start to work out it will happen again.

I feel like what I did when it happened wasn't anything much more than I do when I would hit the gym.

I am 24, and in pretty good shape.. 5'5", 150lbs., decent build. still takin me a while to recover.

So your sayin I can get a check because the pain will never completely go away??

I'm glad it didnt happen lower...they didnt have to tamper with my twig n berries at all.. I made sure it still works :)

my BIIIIIG problem right now is that as of today, I have 5 weeks to get a 100% release from my doc or I get Fired. It happened at work, but they denied my workmans comp case, which obviously im VERY pissed about. Im only getting paid 60% wage now for my 5 week leave.

Indeed. It has been a decade or so since I had my surgery and it still has a strange feeling when touched, like as if the nerve endings got screwed up.
That's probably how all surgical scars are though.... wouldn't know.
I had the surgery a long time ago, and have no issue with the feeling being odd...

guy i bowl with had hernia surgery like 3 weeks ago and he still cant laugh or strain at all. doctor wont let him pick anything up for 5 more weeks.
laughing hurts....i'd say another day or 2 ill be able to, but coughing still KILLLS!!

I was watching "TOP GEAR" last night... (one where they tested the Austin Martin) the one where each of them buys a car, and they do a suspension test by hanging a pasta strainer above the drivers seat filled with eggs, then they drive down a bumpy road....person with the most weight in the strainer after the test wins....it was frickin hilarious because these cars were literally falling apart while they were driving them... Bumpers, mirrors, radios, sun visors, glove boxes, THE BACK DOOR, side mirrors, outside trim.............were all falling off as they were drivin.. I start to crack up and had to turn it off

yes it did happen at work... why it got denied....loooooooooong story, but a B.S. one none the less... to sum it up..

I happened back in Jan.... prob. the 18th or 19th.. I had a REGULAR DOC APT on the 21st. While I was there I had him look at this little bump on my stomach... My dad said it could be a cist, mom said it could be a fatty tumor (which I do have several of).. ANYWAYS... doc wrote on his report, "DOUBT HERNIA, LIPOMA POSSIBLE" and further down, "no mass noticed, see another doc"

SO, as i said it didnt bug me, so I didnt bother getting it checked out again until mid Fed... went and saw the doc, he said it was def. a hernia.. A week later I reported it at work and IMMEDIATELY scheduled surgery.......WORKMANSCOMP lady didnt like the fact that it happened back in Jan. and that I didnt report it back then, so I get denied.. THE ISSUE: why would I report it back in Jan. to my employee when the doc I saw back then said it wasn't a frickin hernia!!!... and THAT puts me on 6 week leave to get 100% clearance from my doc to go back to work, or im fired...and only pays me 60% during the leave.

oh i totally do, it just pissed me off that they denied it in the first place...its completely legit...and now its been over a week since I sent the stupid lady my first doc.s report from back in Jan. saying he didnt think it was a hernia.. i've called her like 3 more times, left 2 messages, and still no response

only issue is I am a pretty good employee at my work, and I don't want to have to suit them and create bad blood ya know. I was right about to get a promotion before I left to!
