just wondering how expensive the books are gonna be at a 4 year? for example, would a textbook for an algebra course at a jr college be more cheaper than a 4year institution?

Book prices were similar, the amount of studying for classes wasn't. I breezed through the junior college but it was like hitting a wall when I got to the Uni. Took a lot more time than I had gotten used to in the college.

I transferred but lucky for me Eastern Illinois rents the books out instead of making us buy them...but I'd imagine they are around the same price. My juco ***** us in book prices.

I had a friend who transferred from a university to Junior college to get his GPA back up. He breezed through it.

I would imagine books are about the same.

At my community college we used the same text as they use at Michigan State so the cost of books was the same.

Most univeristies are a MAJOR step as far as class difficulty and studying goes...

I picked up my Geology book today for 80 bucks used, the lab book was 60. Rest of my classes are programming books that I picked up online for 3-4 bucks each

I never payed over 120ish for brand new science/calc books...and they were HUGE.

There's a great site for getting used and cheap text books. Something with a robot. Can't exactly remember the site. I'll try to find it. Used it all the time and sometimes was able to sell the books at the end of the quarter for more than I got them for.

Business books are expensive. For one semester I dropped over $600 in books at a community college.

cost me 525 for 1 semesters worth.

6 books.... Chemistry and math were over 200 used combined.

Best prices are at my schools bookstore though, surprisingly. I thought that amazon or barnes and noble would have better prices.
