Who can fix this?

I bought a pair of subs off a member here, knowing one of them would need reconed. Seller said the VC's were rubbing. After finally getting it apart, I see the source of the rubbing. The top plate had shifted and is now touching the pole peice. Who could I ship the motor to for it to be fixed? Would it even be worth the hassle?

so that was the problem on it? how does that happen? it was working fine the night before it seized up on me. i took the boot off that one to try and make sure that the magnets had not shifted and they appeard they hadnt from the outside, but apparently that was the problem.

i wish i could of been more descriptive to you roller, i thought that the coil unwound on me due to the fact the magnets were still alligned properly when i took them out of the car

i was only looking at the outside of the motor though since i kept the cone in, were you only able to see the shift with the cone off?

Crzy, I didn't notice it right away. Once I managed to get the cone off of there (witch was a lot of work) it stood out like a sore thumb. After looking at it again, I can see it from the back side. The boot does not even sit on the motor right. I'll get some pics when I get home for all to see. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The other woofer looks great. Can't wait to play with it.

im sorry i wish i would of noticed the shift so you would of had the heads up, and not thought it was an unwound coil as i had thought

ya the cone was seized fairly badly, but it wasnt like that at first. at first it would just rub when i pulled the woofer out then it just seized up totaly on me and would move slightly. i thought the coils got extremely bunched up or something (never had a sub with unwound coils or shifted motor that i took apart)

did the coils look good on it? i usually tryed to baby them

Coils looked great other than the rub marks from the motor. I'm really up in the air now what I wanna do with it. If it takes more money than what it's worth, then I won't do anything with it unless I find a cheap motor for it.
