No. FL does not. Look here:

, and im moving to NC.
Doesn't matter. Unless your moving to Durham county, there is no state gun registration. Only Durham county requires registration. Look here:

..so if the police find a gun next to a body in one of these states , youre telling me they have no way of tracing anything to anyone? what about the original purchaser? sounds nice , but that doesnt make sense.

Under Federal law guns are not "registered". They can look up the serial number and find out where it was first sold. They can go to the gun store where it was sold. The dealer has to keep the purchase record and NICS background check for 10 years. They can tell the cops who bought it. That person can sell it to any adult they want without records. It's just a piece of property after that. They can do the same thing with a computer they find next to the body. Except for a few locations this is how it is everywhere else in the country. I've seen guys trade shotguns at a firing range because they liked the way the other one fit better.

Life is not a CSI episode. That's mostly bullshit.

interesting.

i just thought that you would have to have some type of paperwork for an item thats sole purpose is to end a life , nothing else.

god bless america.

Sole purpose of a gun is not to end a life...it is to protect yourself and your family. It is a tool. F*cking dangerous one, but a tool nonetheless.

Some of us actually "learn" about the weapons we buy and then proceed to get the appropriate training. SigArms Academy ROCKS by the way. Don't come a creepin' around my house as I have a Sig 229 DAK and I know how to use it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

One of the main rules of self defense training with a gun...get the f*ck away from the situation if at all possible. If someone is coming into your home and your first thought is "Oh shit, I can't believe this is happening" you are already dead. If a confrontation cannot be avoided, you are trained to aim for center mass and keep firing until the attacker stops or goes down. Period. 9 times outta 10, that's gonna mean they be D-E-A-D. Too friggin' bad. Everyone has a right to defend themselves, especially in their own **** home. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a state run by a bunch of left leaning moonbats. Then just invite the attacker in for tea and hold hands.

maybe i should of reworded that.

but ultimately , the person on the receiving end will more than likely not live. also , not everyone who owns one uses it for self defense.

ive never claimed to know a lot about guns , so if i came off that way , sorry. i do plan on picking up a mossburg .410 when i move though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ...with the serial numbers intact.

Don't get a .410. Get a 20 gauge at least. 12 gauge if you want to hunt birds or hit anything at a distance of more than 20 yards.

The gun is just a tool. The person is the weapon. A human can easily kill with his bare hands, stick, rock, knife, screwdriver, hammer, etc.

I've never seen a serial number and registration program for a rock or baseball bat.

i dont. i dont ever even planning on putting bullets in the thing. i just got it for self defense for these crazy *** crackheads. he did say the safety was on..so i gotta figure out how to take it off. someone said a lock...like when i pull the trigger the hammer cocks back half way, and then the revolver part looks like it wants to turn but it stops, so i think the safety is on...

So what are you saying. that you are going to wave it around like a dick and when chit happens your going to throw it at the bad guy and run?....

I take my guns to the gunsmith every month to be cleaned. Gun smith is your friend. I am having modifacations done to mine.

.
People have strange ideas about what a gun is for. As if its a magical device that emits a cosmic beam and makes people do what you want when you point it at them. Like mind control.

Dude, buy a cleaning kit and learn to clean your guns yourself. Spend the extra money on ammo, or more guns.

it will be strictly for home security. hallways no longer than 20ft. i do not hunt and probably never will. should i still step up to a 20 gauge? i just dont want to worry about shit going through walls and/or into a neighbors house (we are going to be staying in a townhome).

i r be-ing srsly.
why would you buy a firearm for $30 , and expect to walk into a gunstore to get it serviced without any questions asked. i bet the OP didnt go through a gunstore or get it transferred into his name. thus , its hot. there may be a few heads on it , it may be stolen , or both. im sure the guys at the gunstore will find out for you , and let you know just as the fuzz is walking in the door.

noobx.
Not sure about there but in TX you cant tranfer the ownership registration. If you sell it and they kill someone with it you better have reported it stolen already or have a good aliby . But you can take a stolen gun to the gun store they will buy it or fix it they get paid either way and could give a shit if its hot . I do believe you have to fill out a form though to prove you arent a convicted felon . takes a few days to come back .
