The longer the port = The LOWER the tuning. Longer vehicles have lower resonant frequencies and short vehicles (ie. hatchbacks) have higher resonant frequencies, In turn making them easier to get louder. Since it's more effiecient to play a louder, higher tone.... So no, You're wrong... ya i know, but they usually don't.
the box doesn't have to be carpeted.

and if you don't normally build boxes, i don't really want to buy a box off you so you can practice on me.

so...

your being awfully picky for someone who said 30+ship was too much considering it would cost a minimum of $150 at a shop...
