Whitch direction to have sub facing?

Hello! I am going to be building an enclosure for the back of my trunk. What is the best direction to have my sub facing? Will it sound the best from the front of my car if I have the sub facing the back of he seats? Or should I have it facing the trunk? What about facing up? Thanks in advanced for your input!!

Depends on the car which you have oh-so-conveniently neglected to mention.

As my name implies, it's a '90 Volvo 740 with plenty of trunk space. Also I noticed some posts in other threads that say to put the ports facing up.

So is it a good design to have the sub facing the rest of the trunk with the ports facing up? Or should I just put the ports facing the same direction As the sub?

Face the same direction, or at a 90 degree angle. Anything else will cancel the waves out.
