I am currently building another slot ported sub enclosure for 2 12's in a 2 dr 99' cavalier and want to know your opinon.Which would be louder? 1.Slot port facing rear of trunk w/subs firing upward. 2.Subs and slot port firing to rear of trunk.I want the most "spl"possible and if anyone owns a cavalier or has any ideas on spl trunk enclosure set-ups I would greatly appreciate it.Trunk room(33wx14.5hx19d)=4.14 cu.ft. before displacement.

may i ask why do you want SPL for daily driving??

any who... if you want loud go with option 2, as by rear of trunk i hope your

talking about the rear bumper not the cargo area... go ported at about 60 hz

make sure you set your subsonic filter high or prepare to be very upset

I was thinking of tuning in the area of 40-45HZ...60 is too high

just test ur boxes man, all cars will sound and peak at diferent levelsand btw 40 hz would prolly be good tuning for u 60 is way way to high for daily, im assuming u just wanna be asloud on the mic but still sound good for music

sub up and port 2 the driver side or sub forward and port 2 the driver side
port facing forward or to the rear and also are you sure about the subs facing up due to the fact that i have a trunk.Just curious

yeah, 60 hz is way to high for DD, that high of tuning would only be necessary for a strictly comp vehicle, anyways 40 hz with the subs and port facing rear would suffice in my opinion

yeah your probably right also with the subs/port facing rear i can get some air moving

Where can I get a kanwoodmotorized headunit?

I wouldn't tune at 60hz for daily, and are you sure that your trunk measurments are accurate? Seems like 19" of depth is very small for a Cavalier.

And I agree, subs and port facing rear tuned around 40hz

with that depth if you were to open my trunk there's about 10-12 inches left and i had a hard enough time getting my first box in with the same depth.
