what would be a better box for my 2 12" r's?? 4cf tuned to 30 hz or 5cf tuned to 30 hz. in a trunk car, with rap being the most played music (lil jon, three 6 mafia, mike jones etc...). i have them on a hifonics bx2005d wired for 1 ohm.

The 5 ft3 will have more low end, i'd recommend that.

ive heard that 5cf will not create enough back presssure in teh box causing the subs to bottom out...any truth to this?

I do not see why it would be a problem as long as you properly set your gains.

im going with a 5cuft ported enclosure for my two 12rs tuned to 34hz, im going to start construction soon hopefully. 149 liters, or about 5cuft roughly, is about the optimum size for these subs and this frequency according to winisd. id say you could really go either way, if your tuning low then yea id go with about 5cuft.

5 cu.ft. would give you a slightly higher peak near the tuning frequency, thats really about it besides the fact that your port wouldnt have to be as large.
