which wire to which side of speaker?

96 Sierra have a brown and a white wire that were clipped to the stock. The brown one attached to the left side and white to the right if i were looking at my stock speaker from the back facing me. Would it be the same to attach to infinity 4X6's. What might happen if they were hooked up backwards? Fry something?

Try this. and if you wire it wrong, it will be out of phase. Wont blow your system up. Just may not sound right. Then again it might!!
