which wire and how to ground it

i have 1 14ft piece of 3/8 wire and 1 18ft piece of 1/2 wire and that is without insulation. now i have a 02 accord with a 2400 xtr pro..and was wondering do i have to ground it to the battery with one run all the way. is that best.. and i heard that grounding to chassis causes engine noise..and its not good for the electrical system to have the amp running threw the car....and should i use the 1/2 wire on power or ground? which needs it bigger...? and what size fuse should i run with this setup...? what would be the best and most benificial install,,

power and ground need to be the same size. usually the shortest ground to a bare metal/chassis from the amp is recomended.

there are a couple of grounding threads and ESPECIALLY "BIG 3 Threads" you may want to research first...

but my car really dont have a chassis. ive gone to the battery before...wouldnt going to the chassis make engine noise "whistle" and yea ive seen the big 3 im gonna do that but im talking bout grounding my amp and what size fuse i need..

then ground it back to the batt. but the ground and power should be the same size usually.
