Which subwoofer would you choose?

SQ 3500 at half ohm (will upgrade power later on) is the power that I have for now. I would get d2 subs. I am shooting more for a more precise hitting sub than just one that goes boom, if that makes sense. The box is 7 cubes, but will invert probably to a totla of 7.3 cubes tuned to 35 hertz. I am not really a fan of the lows, more of a guy that likes around 32-40Hz.

Why is this dude? Looking for serious info, not being asinine. Not that I would ever run at .5ohms.
Damping factor

A little about damping factor (which goes right out the window at low impedance). There seems to be some debate about line losses (resistance of just the cable), but it seems rather intuitive that the lower your speaker impedance is the more (as a percent of the total) any other factor becomes.

Generally nobody who is serious about sounding good would consider running half ohm (or likely even 1 ohm)

Thank you dude. I appreciate it. I was reluctant to do 1ohm, but the amps that I have used, make their power at that ohm load. I am currently running an Incriminator IA20.1. I just installed a pair of hdc10s hopefully as they break in, their response will improve.

Cool story. So why don't you just which one models best in that space and tuning?
Because I was trying to have a second opinion.

ampere just to be different lol. The rest are soo mainstream(to bassheads)
Yeah I am thinking the same thing. But they are 380 a piece and little pricey imo. Not having steady income *****.

Why gather opinions when you can just plug the specs of all of them into winISD or Torres and see which will give you the response you're after? All should be more or less similar tier.

Hate to break it to you but if you've played them hard for half an hour or so they've probably softened up as much as they're going to over the next year. If they don't sound "good" to you now you had best start planning a new box because they're really not going to magically get better. From my experience most suspensions I've played with make their most dramatic changes very quickly then very gradually from there over time. Don't get me wrong, I'd run the 20.1 at 1 ohm too, but my preference is high voltage amps over high current.

I'd run at .5ohm... Amp will handle it,you get more power, and you won't notice a difference in SQ. seems like the box the OP has in his avatar is nice and his score in his sig isn't bad either... I think it could be more of a tunning issue for the sound he wants.... But look into some ssa icons or xcons. They nice n smooth soundin

I appreciate that as well dude, not expecting anything magical. I am just a lil confused is all. Some say subs require a break in, sq says so on website, and some, on here say, just go ahead and wang on them. I just want to err on the side of caution, that's all. If I muck them up, I already have someone willing to rebuild them for me.

Subs don't require a break in but they will loosen up some and play alittle lower and louder once you use them for a month a or.
