Which subs to get???

continuous power 200W x 2 @ 4-Ohms RMS

300W x 2 @ 2-Ohms RMS

600W x 1 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS

1-Ohm x 2 Stable

2-Ohm x 1 bridged Stable

These are the specs on the amp I got, the RF Power 600.2... So let's just say that I get 3 10" subs... How much power will really be running to each sub?? at 4 ohms...

I am just confusing myself more and more here... I had my mind made up on the JL W1v2 and now I second guessed that decision, and I CANNOT figure out what to do... I just measured for the biggest box I can fit behind the rear seat. I have 7" at the bottom and 4" at the top, from top to bottom I have 16" and the total length is 60"... So I need the subs to be no more than 5" to 5 1/2" deep... What if I added another amp??
If you want to run 3 subs (I don't understand the appeal), you'll most likely have to buy a monoblock amplifier. Or you can keep the amplifier you already have and do a pair of 4 ohm dvc subs. Arc Audio's ARC series and the DC Level 2 are good options.

It's possible that your amp is stable at 2 ohms bridged, though. If that's the case, you could do three 8 ohm svc subs...

- If you run the amp in 2 channel mode, you can't properly wire three subs.

- If you run the amp bridged @ 4 ohms, you'll need three 12 ohm svc or three 6 ohm dvc subs.

- If you run the amp bridged @ 2 ohms, you'll need three 8 ohm svc subs.

Just buy a pair of 4 ohm dvc, 4 ohm svc or 2 ohm dvc subs that're rated for 300 watts rms apiece...

Ok Misfit... I have obviously been out of the audio game for a long time and don't even pretend to know everything. For some reason I really want to run 3 10s... I am getting so stressed about this decision that I might just get the JLs...

Are the JL's 12 ohm svc, 6 ohm dvc or 8 ohm svc? If they are none of the above, you'll have to buy another amp...

Why not go with psi subs?? they range in power from 500w rms - over 3500w rms???

You would definantly be satisfied, they are custom subs built with whatever parts you want.

Go to fixmyspeaker.com and have them build you a couple custom 10's probably would be the same

price as the other subs but you would be 10 times more satisfied.

meh

The OP needs to learn basic wiring before concerning himself with custom equipment. PSI's subs aren't cheap either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i am a witness misfithe should get sonys instead
Dude is just dead set on running 3 subs. I've never understood the appeal of it, really. He was set on JL from the word go too. I honestly don't even know why he started the thread. He had obviously made the decision before posting here. Oh well, at least he learned which voice coil config he needed...

i dont like three sub setups either. especially jl. i despise jl. but at least you tried and taught him configs. lol. did he tell u what amp he has or is getting

I don't think I taught him a thing. I really don't think he was paying attention to a word I said.

I'm pretty sure he's running a RF T600-2. That's why I recommended a pair of subs rated for 300 watts each...
