Which sub to get?

So onto topic, I just sold my subs 2x 12" Kicker CVX's, Now looking to replace with either a single 12" or a 15".

I listen to a wide variety of music, Rock, Hip hop, Rap, electrical, ect. I'm looking for something that will Hit really low when I'm playing hip hop / rap but something that's not going to sound sloppy while listening to rock.

I have a JL audio 1000/1 slash series amp to run the sub so 1000w rms. and can go up to 3 - 3.5 cubic feet total, would prefer to keep the box smaller then 3, but can work with a bigger box.

So the subs I've been looking at are JL Audio 12W7 or the 15" Kicker cvx, but I'm open to all suggestions.

budget would be around 500 or less.

Given the 2 subs you mentioned, Im not sure if your goal is more SQ or SPL buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.....

you could possibly try out the Digital Designs 2500 series (rated at 750, but I think they'll take the extra 1000 as long as the box is right and amp tuned right)

you could also try one Sundown SA-15.

What ^^ he said. If you can drop $500 go with a DD2500 series but get it supercharged.

My btl will do what you want but you'll need more power

I would do one 15in Fi Q. It will sound great on all music, not get sloppy and still have plenty of output.

Alright, so after reading reviews, I'm more or less decided on the Fi Q. I'm aiming more towards SQ but like the heavy bass every now and then. Considering the single 15 Fi Q w/ 1000w what size box would I be looking at. Also ported or Sealed (keep in mind leaning more towards SQ)
