to each their own, but in my experience subs always tend to sound different in a showroom than in a car. Ask them to play the l7 then have them play a w7. I think the l7 wont sound nearly so good after that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They'll probably be asking 600 or so for the w7 but just know that you can find something that has sq on par with the w7 within your budget.I heard em today at a store and I think they sound pretty good. To each their own.
Also I'm having a real hard time buying subs that I can't hear first. That makes my selection pretty slim when it comes down to it.
so you are saying an l7 cant sound good? that is funny. although depending on the vehicle and so forth solobarics can be a little impractical but i know for a fact they can sound better than most any super sub thrown into a tiny box...you can argue about it all you want if you so desire but the subs already won quite a few sq trophies.to each their own, but in my experience subs always tend to sound different in a showroom than in a car. I've heard 4 different l7 installs in sealed and ported boxes tuned anywhere from 30 hz to 40 hz and to be honest none of them sounded great. The ported ones were loud but definitely lacking in sq, even a pair of tens in a ported box tuned to 32 I believe. I heard a pair of 15's in a sealed box and the sq was alrigth but still what i would classify as subpar. I'm not saying it cant or didnt sound good, just that theres so much out there that sound that much better. Im kind of a sq nut that loves to get loud and the l7 just doesnt cut it for me ime.so you are saying an l7 cant sound good? that is funny. although depending on the vehicle and so forth solobarics can be a little impractical but i know for a fact they can sound better than most any super sub thrown into a tiny box...you can argue about it all you want if you so desire but the subs already won quite a few sq trophies.
Check out the diamond d6's. Those are some nice subs. I had a pair of m6 10's and loved them. The brands that I can go and hear are Kicker, Alpine, JL, Rockford, MTX, Diamond, Polk, and a few others that don't amount to much.
Your prolly not gonna be able to either so either do it or don't. Whatever you do don't sit around thinking about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I did that for awhile and go nowhere. If you're too afraid of doing it, then dont. However the comment of hearing them in a car was also key. If you go to a shop(at least here) you will be able to hear maybe 2 different subs in a car app. WOW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif . Its up to you though man. I definately recommend going for the 12 just to be safe. If you get the 15 and can't fit a ported box you'll be crushed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . Yes I do a XXX btw. Gl in your search... there are plenty of people on this site that can lead you to some great subs. The only problem with those is I can't listen to them before I buy them.
