are you talking about the old P3002 or the new one? Either one is a great amplifier, but the older model actually puts out about 700 watts. both however would be more powerful than the Alpine

I'd go with the Rockford if you really only need 2 channels. If you plan on upgrading, and needing a 4 channel at any time go with the alpine.

I have a P5002 hooked up to my Sub and its amazing. It never gets hot. I've never had an alpine, thats why I'm asking.
