I said Ryobi...however I think it depends on your use and application. Ryobi tools are extremely good for the price.

I do siding and windows for a living, and I can say that dewalt makes pretty junk products in terms of professional use. The batteries dont have a very long life and dont hold charge very well. We also have a drill that the tip completely jammed up so it has a regular bit stuck in it and its completely locked up.

I also have a B&D Firestorm and it owns the DeWalt drills all day every day. Holds charge for a long time and has plenty of torque

Just my 2 cents...but I would say if you want some good price stuff for the garage, definately look into ryobi.

 
I have had my dewalt for about 5 years now the only problem I have had is if you don't use the batteries for a long time and they sit they go bad. But that could be from not using it for 6 months at a time. As long as you keep them charged should be fine great brand.
