I had to choose one about 3 months ago and after doing alot of research I figured I couldnt go wrong with a Viper or Compustar--went with the compustar 900 series because of the 3000ft start range---no probs so far

Go to your local dealer and have a DEI product installed. Personally I do Clifford and the Matrix 10 typically sells for $199 installed. But a Viper or Python would be the same product with a different part number. A Lifetime warranty is alot to lose as well as saving yourself the trouble of attempting the install.

yeah, i was planning on installing it myself, and i was just making sure that a simple alarm system like this would also turn my manual locks into automatic ones... i think it does, jsut double checking, are alarm systems easy to install?

i was looking at car alarms online a while back, but i didn't realize a lot of local shops will only install an alarm if you buy it from them....

unless you're gonna install it yourself, just make sure you have someone who's willing to install it for you 1st.

i don't even like running new speaker wire in my car, so installing one myself was out of the question. if you're more capable, then this wont be an issue. I just have a bad habit of breaking clips/losing pieces/ not getting everything back together just right when i take interiors apart.

The one you have the link for is without remote start, which I have with mine. Also I am in AK so the prices are higher. The cheapest you can get that setup with the remote start installed up here is $389---a little more for a manual (which I have). You should get it cheaper in the lower 48 and make sure its through and authorized dealer. Its a great setup
