All right guys, i am in need of some new speakers....I will not be amping them as of right now just because I don't have the electrical system to power another amp, so I need something that will run and sound at least decent off of a head unit.

I was looking into MB quart, and I really like the way they sound (heard them in a friends car) but I don't know if I want to spend that much on speakers.....does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, to the main point of the thread, which do you think is more important first....rear fill (6x9's) or front speakers (6.5" I think is what I have there)

First and foremost, front stage is the most important. Rear fill is just that....a filler. If your subwoofer is loud enough, chances are you won't even notice the rear fill from the front seats (at least I had that problem in a few of my cars). MB Quart makes great speakers and IMO, they're worth what you pay for them. I have four MB Quart 6.5's in my car right now and they sound great (i had a small problem with a ground loop that I resolved with the help of some guys from this forum). They're running off my head unit at the moment because I haven't picked out a 4 channel amp yet. Even off the head unit, they sound nice and clear and have way more identifiable range and sharpness than most other speakers in their price range. One word of advice about MB Quart: In their comp sets, the tweets tend to sound a little bright. A simple fix for that is to squelch the high level on your head unit (if it has that feature).

If you don't want to shell out the cash for MB Quart, Pioneer makes some pretty decent coaxial speakers that won't break your wallet, and I'm pretty sure you can get the new Alpine comp sets off ebay for pretty cheap....I'm not much of an SQ guy, so I really don't have a whole lot of suggestions. I buy MB Quart because I've always used them and I trust their build quality and like the way they sound.

I may just go with the quarts then..... I have a question on something different though, how hard would it be to run the wires for my rear speakers to the front speakers, and is that even a good idea (so there would be two sets of wires into each front stage speaker to give more power). Thanks for the help

Also any other suggestions on speakers are more than welcome
