Which is better ??

I'm thinking of upgrading my speakers for my car. Components and subwoofers. I'm a die-hard SQ man. I want to know what is a really good SQ woofer. And I was pondering between the 3 different brands of components. Which is the better of the 3 for components.

MB Quart - Q series

Boston Acoustics

Focal - Utopia series

Any suggestions would be very helpful. By the way, MONEY is NOT an issue here.

Thanx,

another componet to look into that are better than the Q series MB's in my opinion would be the top end Canton componets. they are a company that is very similar to MB same mid-bass speaker's just have a silk dome tweet not titanium. mine are great i love them and they love the 600.4 i have running on them:D . just something to mention if you didn't wanna spend 600+ on your comps. but out of those 3 i'd say utopia's.

Wow, those are real serious SQ comps, either way get the 3 way ones, to improve soundstaging, so it would be between the focal utopia 165-w3 or the boston pro 6.53

you can also check some crystal comp, arc, rainbow, etc.

I haven´t had much experience with them, so dont know if they are better than the focal or boston.

But to get better SQ I would recommend kick panels, and having dynamat or something like it on your doors, panels, etc, definitely, will improve the sound

But in my opinion go for the focals

Were can I find the Canton's at? What do you like with them over the Q series.

well i dont' know the website for them b/c i myself only heard them b/c they were in a buddy's comp car. ove the Q series the tweets of the canton's blow them out of the water in natural sound. it's titanium versus silk dome silk dome makes the best natural souding reporduction of sound in my personal opinion. look on ebay for them sometime's they are on there otherwise it will be hard to find them. also the power handling is nice the mb's didn't like having a 800.4 on them then when he switched to the canton's they handled the 200rms watts nicely.

the Q series have the best midbass of the comps you named on there in my opinion. i haven't heard that set of Boston's but i do know that the MB's have better midbass than the utopia's in my opinion. i just really don't like that harsh of a tweet.

Thanks guys but no one answered the second part of my question....I also am looking for some good SQ subwoofers. XTANT X's are on my list but I still want to shop around a little before I commit. Thanks

Originally posted by excelonperu They dont cost 1200 bucks, oyu can get them for half of it at onlinecarstereo, #1 on the site, and maybe even less from ebay. And that for the utopia 3-way line which is the most expensive
a lot depends on if you buy them gray market, or from an authorized dealer. personally, i wanna buy mine from a store that i can walk into, carry in my broken part, and have them deal with it. my friends and i have gotten screwed before by buying online. i wont make that mistake again, although my friend didnt learn the first couple times //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Have you considered Dynaudio 3-way components? They are awsome, hit really hard and crystal clear...no distortion what so ever... I heard them powered with a Brax amp, and they where the best I've ever heard... But they are about $1,000 and worth every penny if you have the money....
