That amp was a piece of shit, Pioneer even conceded to the fact that it was a pyle of shit. Let me make sure I make myself clear here, I wasnt nessasarily recomending the pioneer over the Hifonics, I cant do that because I have only ever hooked up one Hifonics amps so its unfair to base the comparison of of that. Im just saying that to say an amp runs cool to the touch so its better is not always a good indicator

I would much rather have an amp where the heat sink gets hot than an amp that runs cool to the touch. If an amp is cool to the touch it means one of 3 things.1. The amp isnt disipating heat and its like an oven inside

2. The amp isnt even producing enough power to heat up

3. The amps cooling system is mega efficent and is disipating heat like a champ.

The third happens few times and far between

options 1 and 3 need not apply

between those 2 amps... i would go with the pioneer... it is true that it gets very hot but i had one and it never shutted off.

Hifonics over pioneer? You guys do know that pioneer is a far larger company that produces great products with more money spent on R&D than hifonics probably pulls in a year.
