Which is better Aero port or slot port?

a yes what is a better port between the aero tube port of a slot rectangular port, do you have to have more then one aero ports? also which way is better for a port to face in a suv, sub also? would sub facing back port back be louder then sub facing up, port back? thanks

Some people claim a DB gain from Aeros, some people claim Slots get louder.

So, it all depends on the situation, and the install, as well as the design.

Aeroports are easier to build, but more expensive (since the aeros are like $20 bucks a piece)... but slots are a PITA to build.

It depends on the box design. Each one has its better application; one is not necessarily better than the other.

For walls, slot all the way.

Aero's tend to do well in street applications. But, the shape of the enclosure and dimensions will also play a role in which one is better. People have also came up with crafty ways on how to make slots better.

if you compare it to building an aero, slop port is more of a pain. So he is kinda right.

Not that's its too hard to build just a basic box.

The nice thing about slot ports is that they are very volume efficient because they use 3 of the outside walls of the box as the port so you only have to add one piece and space it out based on how much port area you need, then just make it longer or shorter for tuning purposes. Aero ports however are more streamlined when it comes to airflow so you need less actual port area to achieve an unrestrictive port design. But, you pay more, and you can only get them in certain sizes, slot ports you can adjust to any size you want.
