im putting 3 12" 9500's in my jeep grand cherokee. the pic is what im looking for on how the subs are mounted and where the ports are going. the dimensions are the max height and width. height is short cause i want to keep it below the tops of the seats. as for the depth, that can be determined from the box volume and the ports. can anyone help me out with a recommended volume and port size?? thanks

this box here would work too as for the layout. the depth would be 22" and height 17". the port is 82insq and its tuned to 34. and the volume is 6cuft. so is 6cuft tuned to 34 a good box for these 3 subs??

as far as volume what does mtx recomend??

general rule of thumb for ports is 12-16 sq/in per cube for example 2 cubes=24-32 sq/in of port area

however every application is unique I've gone as big as 21 sq/in per cube

so determine your volume generaly (prefferably after all dissplacements i.e. driver/port/gussets etc...) then play with port length to tune //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D gl

mtx recommends 2cuft per sub. but some people think subs sound better with more than whats recommended. i just sold my system of 4 type rs and they were subs up port back but the box bounced around to much.

and another thing, i want to be about to have a little cargo room on top. so putting the subs up would kinda take up that cargo room

other wise you're right in there

i would do all three subs up and two 3.5x12 port along the bottom of the back

The box shouldn't "bounce around." While playing it should be as normal as when not playing. Maybe a better box is in order.

the top where the subs were had only one sheet of 3/4" mdf. so maybe thats where it was getting its bounce. the top was flexing to much. so i could double or tripple the top on this one

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
