Which HU would you choose (low budget)?

The front/rear outputs are used for amping his speakers right? If hes on a budget, i don't think he'll be amping his speakers but he might want to add a sub in his system later on.
not true...I have that Pioneer and it has one preout which I hooked my brutus up to.

Anyways, even if i wish to add another amp, Ill just daisy chain it

My bad. I was just going by what the website told me.
the websites arent always correct...lol

But even if a deck has 1 preout, and most budget models do, i have never seen a deck differentiate what type of preout it was. Meaning, I have never seen a deck that had 1 preout, yet was only a "highs amp" preout...Typically, that is more on multiple preout decks when they differentiate "front" "rear" and "sub" preouts

Thanks again for all of the great replies. But it seems like the only thing i'm taking away is to not get dual. Other than that, i'm still split. I will use an amp/sub setup and probably not an amp for the 6.5" speakers.

an actual sub preamp would be great because the speakers in the car are not that good. what I did with my old set up was turn up the sub preamp a little then put the speakers at lowest bass. i don't think i can do this without a sub preamp.

Im telling you the Eclipse is a nice deck. It has your basic bass, treble, fade, balance settings, aux in for MP3 players, and 2 sets of preamps (1 for a sub amp and 1 for a 2 or 4 channel) and the SQ was pretty **** good for an entry level deck. Not to mention it looks amazing.

Dual is the shittiest brand on the list. I have a Pioneer DEH5800MP and Im considering dropping it for the Eclipse and it is worth less new than my DEH5800 is used. That says something.

I got the HU this morning. i ordered it yesterday morning. sonicelctronix are pretty good when it comes to shipping the products out. i only live about 50 miles from their store. I just finished installing it and it sounds great. Like night and day compared to the stock cd player. I bought a pair of 6.5" speakers about 3 weeks ago. I used to think that they weren't that good. but with the new HU, they sound much much better

No, i just have to find a way to fit my sub in the trunk and I'm gold.

Thanks for the advice.

Alright. I might be having a change of heart. The longer i've had the HU, the more I feel like I need the sub preamp output (kenwood). I have an amp/sub and i wish i can have more control on it.

Id go with the Eclipse CD 3414G. Dual is a POS and would not even come close to even considering that brand. Id take a Sony before the Dual anyday. The Eclipse CD 3414G gives you 2 pre outs which is ok, Id want at least 4 volt outs, but your on a budget. But I think if you look at the right places youll find something. May I suggest the Clarion CZ209? If you can do the few extra dollars Id get the Clarion deck, if not that Eclipse CD 3414G will be the best bet in my opinion. Good luck and let us know what you pick.
