So I just got into some cash and want to replace this POS Rockford P450.4 and do my Profi's some justice with 150w+

I'm thinking of the budget of

Anyways, seems like my choices for a good job are the 07 RF Power 600.4, PDX 150.4, Kicker ZX....or ???

I would like smooth, and loud....and the ~80w from the punch isnt doing **** for that:suicide:

any recommendations?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Why would you possibly need more than 100W for the 4 corners, are those speakers that inefficient? I have an average of 50W-75W per corner and it is clean and LOUD! Are your amplifier gains matched to the output of the HU?

Well, no, they definatly aren't inefficient. But the gain, done with a dmm with a 1K tone with the outputs of the 880, the gain on the amp is a little over 3/4, and they aren't as loud as they should be.

If you don't need a small footprint I would look at the Cadence TXA-6004 150 X 4 @4ohm $179.00 shipped. Don't let the price fool you. Foot print should not be a problem if you are looking at the Zapco 1000.4.

If you want something better I would consider the Zapco Ref 360.4 or 1000.4, Zed Audio Draconia with the Burr Bronw upgrade, Audison LRx 4.300, ARC FD4150 or new KAR 4.300 they will all have more that plenty of power to run your comps.IMO

Good luck finding 150x4 RMS (not 'max power') for under 500$. The only amps i found with those kind of specs were...expensive. I'll be surprised if that massive can push 200wx4 with only a 60amp fuse rating...i mean, at 100% efficiency you'd need 66amps @ 12v to make 800watts. Good luck with that amp providing more than 30-50% efficiency; it's class A/B.

The arc 4150 would sound much better and louder. The damping factor on the arc is over 1500 and I beleive around 200 for the pdx. I am not knocking the pdx they are nice amps especially if you need a small footprint. Birth sheets on a 4150 typically show 180 to 190 watts per channel at 2ohms and that is real power not hype. Get the arc audio I promise you it will give your speaks everything they can handle!
