Im also looking at the Alpine CDA-9887. Im pretty sure this one is going to be better but its also going to cost about 40 more dollars than the 103BT. Is the extra cost worth it?

CDA-117 is too expensive, i was looking to stay more around 200-250.

I also found a Eclipse CD5030 for 215 on ebay, how does this compare to the other units. Keep in mind im not going to be doing many adjustments since im still pretty new to this. Also, do i need the ipod cable for this or can i just use the regular ipod cable

You could check out DIYMA for a used one and may get lucky and find a higher end model for less.

At DIYMA an Eclipse CD7100 just went for $220.

Also, i assume if i were to buy from ebay or DIYMA i wouldnt get a warranty

Not unless its new. Even then you will probably only get it if its an authorized dealer.
