Which Brand is better JL or ID?

not strange at all. shows how when u don't rush things they come out good. for ID it's not about getting ppl to blow money. they want you to do that but at the same time get a great product that's gonna produce great sound.
Ding ding ding. I'm not gonna say one brand is better than the other, because they are different, but both good. JL is more expensive, but that means you can sell it for more if, and when the time comes.

I do prefer ID myself, but I like getting more for my money.

Or it shows that when you base your design on an existing pro audio driver and maybe make some modifications to it (ID is very tight lipped about what driver it was, so it's hard to say what/if they changed on the design) that it's not hard to bring a good product to market //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

what does makeing new products have to do with the quality of their current product?
Where did I state it does, and where does the topic of this thread dictate that quality of current offerings be the only discussion? It asked about brands. I gave one of my gripes about ID as a brand/company. And I know I'm not the only one who has felt this way about them.

Why would you say it takes too long to bring new products? That to me makes no sense. ID has brought the XS line and amps to their lines in the last year.
I will give them the benefit of the doubt here, they've apparently gotten a little better.

If you are talking about the IDMax 15" or the XS8" then you are really talking out your butt. People requested it and they said they would build them eventually, how is that taking too long? They didnt announce they were coming anttime soon only they would build them eventually.

Not going to get into a drawn out argument over this as ECA is gone & that's where most of the info was, but the release of the IDmax 15 was more than just a fleeting dream. If they didn't announce the IDMax 15 was coming out anytime soon, why did they have it listed in the CES Directories back in the early '00s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

And I won't even mention the IDOne //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/moon.gif.9d317aec3339ffe7fde0638df52c628a.gif

IIRC (again, ECA is gone) it was quite a lapse of time between when Matt said they just needed to finalize the package on the CTX sub line compared to when it was actually released as well.

Funny you talk like that but I dont imagine you have ever been there seeing the prototypes and the testing they do.

Just because the horn motors were once based off of another driver doesnt make the rest of the line simply a copy. Yes, I have been there MANY times and they always have something new on the desks and testing board fiddling with it.

Yea, a w7 is a SPL based sub dumbshit. And did i not say it depends on what you like.
no need to be a *******, i simply said that you listed a bunch of spl based companies and claimed that they own JL. In what reguards? Make an apples to apples comparison next time;)

dumbshit

i like them both...along with a lot of others...the IDMAX does however sound better..

Were you there 15 years ago when the IDW was released and "in testing"? Do you know what the IDW was based on, or what changes were made? If so, please share.

I only stated 1) what is common knowledge (based on a pro audio driver) and 2) the obvious; that it's possible they didn't change a thing.

Do I know? No.

Did I say I know? No.

Is it possible? Yes.

Did I even mention the compression drivers at all? No.

Does my point still stand? Yes.

Why even bring compression drivers into the conversation when we were talking about the IDW? I haven't a clue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Why are you attempting to argue with me? Not sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

When it comes to which brand is better, I will say "it depends". With a little work, crappy speakers can be made to sound great. Sadly, any idiot can make great speakers sound crappy.
