Which Brand is better JL or ID?

This is rediculous. I for one LOVE the JLw6v2, yes you heard me right I run all ID speakers and will say the JLw6 wouldn't be kicked out of my bed for eating crackers. The W7 is another fine driver but is obviously geared more for SPL but then again I have heard one in a SQ car and it was completely transparent. The W6 is the best thing JL makes IMO. Now, the IDQ will holds its own agains the W6 and the Max will stay right with the W7. Which is better? Neither. Which is more cost effective? ID Which has a president you can call on the phone and shoot the shit? ID (not sure on the JL president thing though) I personally dont think you can go wrong with eitehr brand.

They also released the Max somethin' like 10 months before the w7 was released.

Why would you say it takes too long to bring new products? That to me makes no sense. ID has brought the XS line and amps to their lines in the last year. If you are talking about the IDMax 15" or the XS8" then you are really talking out your butt. People requested it and they said they would build them eventually, how is that taking too long? They didnt announce they were coming anttime soon only they would build them eventually.

I vote ID everything i have had that was ID compared to JL i have owned has been both high quailty and very good when installed correctly. ID is the superior choice IMO due to the ability to make a better sounding car for the same monies. ID dealers have also been much more knowledgeable about the product they sell at least in this area over the last 10-12 years i have farted around with my car.

K, ill name some brands that own your little JL company.
DD, RD, Stetsom(amps), Cactus Sounds(amps), Sundown, Audioque... The list goes on. However, It really matters what your into, SQ or SPL?

O and BTW, Halo owns GOW. COD owns them all tho, IMO

tough choice here I like both companies and I actually got to know the people who run both companies (JL before they were JL (speakerwarehouse)). I think they both fill niches in the market and I actually like both companies BECAUSE you may find them in a local shop. Horns though will always be my fav and IB subs will always be my fav..dynamics dynamics dynamics!

Mark actually is using ALL JL? Never thought he would quit with those old school Altec Lansing horns LOL...those were tits!

I looked at the USACI finals results and seen someone I did not recignize beating Mark then I found out who the other guy worked with and it made sense LOL...both those cars in that class were plumb freaking crazy.

well that may be true but they did also have a valid point as to why it wasn't released yet. i mean i'd rather have something come to the market that was made correctly the first time and not have it reach us knowing that there are problems or will be problems with it.

He does have a good point about not coming out with products fast enough. I mean, they should be able to get you to blow your money as fast as possible.

Has anyone else found it strange that the IDW series sub is still coveted by many to be the all time best SQ sub EVER made? Competitors at a very high level are still using this sub today... and its only been 13 years since the last one was produced...

not strange at all. shows how when u don't rush things they come out good. for ID it's not about getting ppl to blow money. they want you to do that but at the same time get a great product that's gonna produce great sound.
