Which box would be better for an L7 12"

I have one L7 12" in a 2.5 cube ported box (for now) with a MA audio 1398 amp (1600 watt peak, but I'm running about 730 RMS with cap).

I was wanting to know if i up grade to at ported 3.25 cube box with this make my system any better. I want some sq but im mainly going for spl. One of my friends said the 3.25 would not make it hit any harder but would play deeper and have more of a rumble....is this true and how much difference would it make....enought to spend the time and money on a new box..thanks for any help

if u want a mix a decent sq and a ton of output..slap it in a kicker recommended 4th order bandpass

I called my local Kicker dealer today and they told me that my box (which they built) was tuned perfict for my truck. They told me a bigger box might get me 1 to 2 db. since im not going to compet i dont care about that little diff.

^^Dont listen to them...2,5 seems a tad too small for an L7 12...I would definately do 3 cubes...how much port area do you have? Tuning?
