That is so far the most comfortable bike ive sat on to date, other than its so heavy. I think it would be a pain to drive unless you were racing it. I do like the looks of it, other than the japanese symbol.

ive got nothing againt how the busas look (except being bulky and lumpy). its just too much bike for its own good. great for a straight line, but its a pretty strong deviation of what a sport bike should be IMO
I've seen few people dump them down the races, and a lot that almost/should have but got lucky. Inexperience ftl. It scares me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif . Lol not too much but I think a 750 or 1100 gsxr is plenty of bike.

for the streets, a 600 should be plenty of bike... 750+ is more than one would need an a street. and the way the new 600's are coming out, they arent far behind the liter bikes. also, all bikes should scare you a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . i like the theory of when you arent scared, you arent safe.

Well its not like im naive and think nothing could happen to me. I just try to stay optimistic about it and be as careful as possible.

Thanks for clearing that up, i thought thats what it was but wasnt sure.

I ended up getting a suzuki sv 650. it sits abit more upright and is not as fast, but I got a good deal. And they handle as good or better than the sports on mountain roads were I was doing most of my riding. I did ride a few of the 600's though. I dont think they amke a black one, but the 636 kills the rest. Only 06 though. I believe they stopped making them.

I have yet to get my own bike but I would start on something comfortable that you aren't going to cry if you drop it. It scares me to think about how expensive the plastic is on those bikes. I am probably going to spend a year or so riding on a GS500 before moving up to something that has more power and costs more.

Jesus, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING A NEW 600CC BIKE FOR A BEGINNER.
Buy a ninja 250/500, ride for a while, then sell it for basically the same cost.
THE LONE VOICE OF REASON IN THIS THREAD. Thank you manny.

Go to a junkyard, get a beat up, older gs500 or old sportbike. spend $500 to get it running great, then beat on that for awhile. Take some safety courses, track days, etc...then consider moving up. 600CC bikes are on par with the literbikes of old, and with little to no experience, you just going to be another set of skidmarks on the underpants of the motorcycle world...

This coming from someone who did the same thing then moved on to a gsxr600, and later 2 MV Agustas...

I understand where you guys are coming from. I may take your advice and go with something that if i drop wont be a huge deal. Im already enrolled in a safety course 3 weeks from now, and they have junk bikes you ride. I really dont plan on doing anything dumb on the bike(i know everyone says that), but im not into stunting, hell the fastest ive ever driven a bike was like 60mph and it felt like i was doing 150. The main thing im worried about is other drivers. I had a freind severly hurt on his bike a few years back because someone rear ended him, luckily he lived. I dont know i may look around and see if i can find something with less power to get started on.

Thank god insurance is too much for a 1k like you said....
Even if i could afford it, that is wayyyy more than i would need or want. This is going to be a pretty much commuter bike, and go riding with buddies at night and stuff.

Yes I have heard all that before. I learned that if someone wants to do something, they are going to do it. I won't sit here and spill to show you the right way to get into this sport, a sport a consider MY sport.

Just take the advice from more experienced, and take the advice me and jebus have given you.

If not then good luck
