deka 9a31. or 2 SHURiKEN SK-BT20?

Currently, I have a single redtop up front with stinger 240 amp alt, 1/0 wiring. I'm running 2 older "the mean machine " amps but can't tell which as they are covered where I bought the ride with them already in it and they built a beautiful panel to cover them all except the top. Pretty sure they are 99s, running 4 12" XTR ( older series ) off them and when turned up I seem to get some dimming on the interior lights so I was going to upgrade. Seen used dekas on here for around 100+shipping and the shurikens are 127.xx shipped on sonicelectronix for a pair right now. The shurikens would also take up a lot less space so that is why I was considering them. Was just hoping someone could suggest which route I should go for a good boost to the electrical for around the prices I listed.

Thanks in advance.

well if i were you i would determine what your voltage is when running full tilt on the system. i also have a 250 amp alternator with one extra battery and my interior lights dim also. but my voltage never drops below 13.5volts when above 1000 rpms. the HO alternators aren't very good at low rpms(at least mine isn't). you may not need an extra battery, but it wouldn't hurt.

i would personally go with the deka if it were me.

appreciate the information, I'll have to install a voltage meter during this next weekend. Apparently these old "the mean machine" amps put out some serious power, zed audio made them. I Just wish I knew which ones I had, pretty sure it's the 99s though. If I could find the sizes of the amps listed somewhere I could tell.

get the deka.
Only issue I really had with it is used vs. new and size. Looks like that doesn't seem to be an issue for most though haha.

I could fit the shurikens behind my drivers seat leaned all the way back still, the deka I will have to find a spot for.

I'm assuming you have the old white autoteks. They are great amps. I have an old 44 in the garage in need of repair. Anyway if you want to know the model numbers, you will need access to the side of the amp.

Also as far as new vs used battery . As long as a good charged voltage of 12.5 or so can be verified the battery is fine

yea these are the circa 95 ones, white heatsinks.. however one actually has a grey metal/faded chrome top. they are the exact same size/make though. I'll have to disassemble the part he has over them this weekend coming up and check. First oldschool amps i've ever owned/used though and I am more than happy.

Thanks again for your help, it's appreciated.

ended up with 3 of the shurikens as I found a coupon that helped on the price slightly and since they were already on sale, Seemed the logical choice.
