Hey yesterday i tried to start my car and it wouldnt. I used jumper cables and it started immediately. Later in the day the same thing happened. Took the batt to autozone to get it tested. They said it just needs to be recharged. I picked it up later and put it in the car. the car struggled a bit to start, but it started. This morning it wouldnt start again!. the only difference is that i took out my L7 15s and put in a DD2515. The morning after testing the sub, the problems began. Couldnit be that i have a stock alt or a cheap batt? The car is a 2000 grand marquis. I was about to buy a batt when this happened but now im afraid it could be something else?

sounds like a dead cell in the battery.
Well at this poiny idk what to think anymore. i hope its something simple because i just bought my DD and im a bit short in cash. Im gonna have my alt tested as well....if thats possible.

Same thing happened to me and it was a dead cell in the battery. Do you have warranty on the battery or is it pretty old? I would take it back to where you got it from if you have warranty.

Just an FYI: my car alarm was working last night and a little bit this morning. usually when the car batt dies, the alarm doesnt really work. . And when i turned the key, the stereo blinked on for a few secs, then off again.

How would i determine if there was a dead cell in the battery? I bought the car a year ago and the owner said he had just put a batt not too long ago. The shop he got it from is far from reputable. The guys at autozone looked at the batt and said "well thats where you went wrong to start with" lol. Im hoping its the batt and not the alt

you'd take it to AZ or where ever and have them test it. tell them they charged it up yesterday, it's dead today. you suspect a dead cell. and they can test the alt on the car IIRC. is it a wet-cell battery with the caps on top? if so, pop'em off and see how much water is in there.

I think its pretty safe to say that the batt i have is probably a refurbished one. It even says ford on the batt. I havent really looked in the battery for water and i dont know if its possible in this batt. Man this ruined my day today. Fml

If the car won't start, it's not the alternator. The alt doesn't help the car start...
True but if the alternator charges the battery and he runs it all day, then starts it later like OP did then alt can def be a problem. Just plain bad to rule out checking the alternator when a car won't start.
