Which Amps To Use

I have been looking at jl audio amps and before i buy i want to know is there any other amps out there that are compatable to jl audio's stuff .This system will be going in a 145,000 High performance deck boat and will be on many covers of boat magazine.So im looking to get the most for my money and still have the quality. I will be running 4 of the 13.5 w6s in 2 seperate enclosers and 16 of the mb quartz pce 216. 2 of the pce 216 will be switched on and off at the rear of the boat so i dont have to add anther amp. I have 1 1000/1 and 3 300/4 on hold at my buddies shop but want more input.Any suggestions.I want to spend the same price range for the amps as the jl audio stuff. zapco, us amps, memphis, arc audio, tru technology, ample audio, or even RE audio or elemental designs.

best bet is the zapco or us amps though IMO

Actually going to sell my C2k in favor for an equally powered Arc- there's no difference IMO

In Jl's price range you can do many things...

Zapco reference, Arc xxk's & Kar series, Diamond D6's, Audison LRX, Tru Tseries, Kicker SX, Helix Dark Blue...for example

I will be running 4 ohms to amps.I have been checking all of the recomendations here on the board.It seems that there are not that many amps the have been suggested that put out the same power as jl audio 1000/1 at 4 ohms,they all drop down in rms except for jl.

might look into something marine orented a little bit. memphis has some quality amps. really depends on location and so forth.

The amps will be located in a amp compartment behind the back rest of a seat cushion and are well vented with two fans,one blowing and one pulling.they will not get wet at all.

If this is for show. There is not many other brands people will be more familiar with other than JL. You're basic guy on the street has very little knowledge in different brands, and JL is the best In there eyes.

that changes things lol if you want it to look sweet i would go us amps , brax or helix (they have plex glass pannels showing off their guts) led lighting in the amp compartment would set it off sweet (match the flash of the boat) and you wouldnt be down grading at all quality wise. other good amps that dont break the bank (not a bad suggestion made yet) but perform as well would be the zed amps. jl is is still very good however lol hope i didnt goof you up too bad

If you are looking for some sort of efficiency in that boat, the jl 1000/1's arent really that great in those regards judging by the hurtin' they've put in a few peoples cars that I know...

Only amp from personal use , that I know to be very efficient is the arc 1500d class T

Run down to 1ohm stereo, has 2ch layout for ease of wiring...heatsinks, run cool, and puts out 1kw +...

agreed whatever you go with a good class d or t amp would be a good idea to put on the subs
