Which amp to choose?

I've got a 95 Grand Cherokee, had the factory Infinity system but I have bypassed the factory amp. My current setup is an Alpine IDA-X303 head unit, Alpine Type S 6.5" Components up front and Type S 6.5" (full range) in the rear doors. It sounds pretty good but in the summer with the windows down I have some distortion when turning it up loud enough to hear over the exhaust. I'm looking for a cheap x4 (~ 50w RMS) amp to drive the speakers. Sadly my budget only allows for low name stuff, I will say I have usually used the cheaper stuff in the past with no issues. My last amp was a lightning audio B300.4 and it was great until I sold the vehicle. Something comparable to that would be great.

These are the ones I'm looking at as I received an Amazon GC for Christmas..

Boss CW350

Boss CX350

SSL F4.400

SSL EV4.400

I appreciate any help!

Worst than the head unit alone? I've heard several people say the alpine power pack greatly increased the sound with the speakers, I would imagine that is on par with these amps listed?

All those amps you posted will not do anymore then 25-30 rms x 4 ohms. You may see a slight improvement but nothing worth the 50 bucks. At the end of the day its your money so you can do what you want but id save up some more money for a better amp. You have a decent pair of components don't cheap out on an amp for them.

Ah.. See I was under the impression the RMS was still accurate since the peak is what is advertised. Those definitely won't be worth it since the it's not much of a step up. I believe the speakers can handle up to 75-79 RMS so I'd like to give them a decent amount of power.

Used is fine.. if it's worth buying.

Also, I don't plan on running a sub. So I would prefer to be able to control how much mid bass is used, I'm assuming this is the bass boost? Forgive my ignorance lol.

If I can go up to the $100-125 mark does anyone have any suggestions? Doesn't have to be on Amazon.

My original thoughts were one of these (can be had on various sites for that price range):

Alpine MRP-F300

Rockford Fosgate R300-4

JL 320.4 J2

This JL looks promising, 60w RMS x 4 @ 4 OHM.

You are joking right? You can get a $400 300/4 for $75 and you are dicking around looking at $100-125 amps? Best bet would be to meet up with the guy, hear it play and buy it before it is gone.

Good luck.

Did you even read the listing? It's broken. Would have to be sent off to be repaired, could easily be $200+..
