I would go with the hifonics... their higher power models are not that overrated and it will produce more power than the kicker and as said before the quality difference will not be noticeable.

What woofer(s) are you planning to use?

2 15 l7s ported. whichever one i get will only be temporary as i will buy another of the same later on to hook up each one to a 1 ohm load. the kicker will make around 1400 at 1 ohm versus the ~1700 the 2006d will put out. but the kicker is strappable.

as far as quality goes, you guys are saying the kicker will sound better?

if you plan to use the KX12001 now, you need dual 4's for a final one ohm, If you use one per woofer later, you need dual 2's...something to ponder.

go with the bxi2006...... It's not really a fair comparison because it's 800watt difference. I know kicker amps are underrated, but not by 800watts......even if the bxi2006 is overrated, it will atleast do 1500 @ 1ohm. That kicker amp will do anywhere from 1201-1599.....
