Which amp is good enough?

This is my first post as a member.....hello everyone.

Question...

I plan on purchasing 2 Alpine Type-R's. I've heard good things about thair sql. I Also plan on running 2 amps, but the question is... Which amp should I get? I plan on getting 2. Reasonably priced would be ideal. Which amps work best with the Alpine Type-R's?

Secondly, why do you want to run separate amps? It's just going to be more of a hassle.

I'd look into a JBL 600.1, or, if you insist on 2 separate amps, 2 JBL 300.1's. They can be found on http://www.ikesound.com for relativley cheap, shipping included.

Well, we're gonna need a little more info first. First off, how much do you have to spend? What kind of box are they in? Are you dead set on getting 2 amps?

Correct. And you can get either the Dual 2 or Dual 4 ohm Type-R's.

Don't waste money on a capacitor. If it is that bad then get your alternator rebuilt. Do you know what size your stock one is?

No...if your lights dim with that little power, you definitely need a higher output alternator...

well not headlights.. but dome light and HU lights flicker.

it might just be a nasty inefficient amp. look for class d mono, like jbl.

 

Also make sure your hooked up using 4guage directly to battery with appropriate fuse, not to any wire under the dash.

yeah its not your alternator, it is just an innifucient (sp) amp. mine did that till i upgraded to a bigger better amp
