Which amp do I get for Type R Sub?

I'm looking to buy one sub 12" Alpine Type R.

I already have speakers amp Audioque 4X90. So which second amp do I get for the sub?

If I do get second amp, I can connect it from 4X90 to the second amp, right? Just double checking since I'm not exactly a genius.

what are the coils on the sub? Dual 2 or 4?

Oh, I forgot to add that... the SWR 1242D. The one with 4 coils.

Its a dual 4ohm sub. Not 4 coils. Find an amp that works at a 2ohm mono load. I had 500W on this sub and it felt under powered. I would look closer to 700-800 atleast.

I've seen ppl use the pdx 1x600 and the 1x1000 so it has a wide range. I wouldnt go over 1000 rms on it though. asfar as the connection. you can connect both amps to eachother, but its best if you do it seperate so that you can control them from you HU better. just run different rca's but you can use the same remote wire though

I've got 2 amps that would work fine for an R. I've got a memphis 500 watt 2ohm amp that's powering my R currently (In a ported box it makes an R slam) or if you want to go bigger I've got an MTX amp that's 800 watts at 2 ohm. 90 shipped for the first, 110 shipped for the second.

I would like to match the ratings with the amp and the sub if possible. I do plan on putting the sub in the ported box for better bump.

If you say I have to research and find my lucky one on my own, then what do I gotta look into? The amp that handle the RMS rating that matches the sub?
