my re8s were fun too, but not fun enough unless you have quite a few of them

i had two tc1000 8"s (basically rl-i) in 1.25 @ 32 hz off 1kw iirc. and it slammed the lows just fine. imo , the rl-is look better too. if you can find some , snag em up.

If you have access to buying a pair of Rli-8's, get them. If just one, you probably wont ever find anymore, and one wont likely satisfy you in the long run, so Id chose an easily available speaker.

About 1600w RMS before imp rise. Ran about 3 months daily. One day one cut out then the other. Got replacments from Jacob. He told be he couldn't find anything wrong with my old ones though. Just had the wrong imp and wouldn't play.
