where to put nav antenna?

the unit is a avic 930. i was thinking inside the dash, or on top of the car. which on would be better

on top of the car, those antenna's are like SAT radio antenna's they need a clear sight line to the sky.

If the antenna is magnetic you will need to mount it to a metal base for the ground plain and better signal.
